Medical Conditions - Antipyretics

Antipyretics are anti-fever medications. They reduce high body temperature by targeting the hypothalamus to override an interleukin-induced fever. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen and Aspirin have an antipyretic effect and are used as analgesics. Paracetamol also has a similar effect. Long-term use of Paracetamol is known to affect the liver.
