Hypoxemia is a condition when the oxygen levels in the blood are below normal levels. There are multiple causes for hypoxemia which include anemia, asthma, COPD, emphysema, pneumonia, and certain medications like narcotics and anesthetics. When the oxygen levels are low, there can be some symptoms like shortness of breath, confusion, and restlessness.
