Bacterial infection of the nasal vestibules causes nasal vestibulitis. It can occur due to nose picking and excessive nose blowing and can result in nasal bleeding and crust formation. The nasal vestibule can develop furuncles and cause cellulitis of the tip of the nose. Bacterial or viral infection of the nasal and paranasal sinuses can also cause sinusitis. The common symptoms of a nasal infection are a runny nose, headache, sore throat, sneezing, swollen sinuses, fever, mucus formation, and stuffy nose. Allergies can also cause inflammation of the sinuses. Such infections are commonly treated with antibiotics, antifungal, and antihistamine medicines.
