The condition caused by very low levels of sugar in the blood is called hypoglycemia. It is mostly seen in people who are under treatment for diabetes or can be an indicator of an underlying health condition. Some of the other causes of hypoglycemia are consuming large amounts of alcohol, liver disease, eating disorders, hormonal problems, and cancer. If the blood sugar level is less than 70 mg/dL, immediate treatment is necessary. Early signs of hypoglycemia are pale skin, sweating, irregular heart rhythm, anxiety, hunger, and irritability. In severe cases, confusion, blurred vision, tiredness, seizures, and loss of consciousness can be seen. If you notice signs of hypoglycemia, take a glucose tablet or candy or a glass of juice.
