Oculoplastic surgeries are a group of surgeries and reconstructive procedures that involve the eye socket, eyelids, tear ducts, and face. Abnormalities in the ocular appendages can be congenital, due to trauma, idiopathic, secondary to any disease, or due to aging. A few of the symptoms seen are watery eyes, swelling in the eyelid, growth in the eyelid, and post-traumatic ecchymosis. The common disorders seen in the eye are eyelid malposition, ptosis, blepharoplasty, tumor, and trichiasis. The other conditions where this surgery is performed are orbital tumors, orbital fractures, and any blockage to the tears pathway. Some of the operations done are ptosis correction, orbitotomy, dacryocystorhinostomy, dacryocystectomy, eyelid reconstruction, ectropion correction, entropion correction, etc.
