Hemophilia is a rare blood disorder that occurs when the blood lacks clotting factors. This prevents the blood from clotting normally. A small cut or injury might bleed longer than normal but will eventually stop bleeding. In severe cases, internal bleeding can lead to life-threatening complications. The symptoms include excessive bleeding from cuts, easy bruising, pain and swelling in joints, frequent nosebleeds, and blood in stools. A head injury can result in a brain bleed. This condition is most commonly inherited. This condition is treated with the help of a hormone called Desmopressin. This hormone stimulates blood clotting factors.
