Know How iCliniq's Neurosurgeon Helped a Patient With Severe Traumatic Brain Injury

A patient who injured her head after some part of a concrete ceiling collapsed on her contacted a neurosurgeon on iCliniq.com. She was hospitalized for three days due to injuries to the brain and scalp. She also consulted an ENT, who found minor injury in the right ear and slight hearing loss. The patient was still experiencing left-sided headache, earache, and heaviness all around her head. She attached the CT scan of the head, which was taken a couple of days after the accident, and she wanted our doctor to help her.

iCliniq’s doctor informed the patient that she suffered a brain contusion (areas of bleeding on the surface of the brain) and some scalp injuries, which were causing the pain and heaviness. The doctor suggested some antibiotics, antiepileptics, and painkillers for a week, along with the medicines that the patient was already on. He asked the patient to revert with an update after a week.

After a few days, the patient’s husband messaged our doctor, saying that his wife seemed very weak and always tired. She was not eating properly, there was swelling on her face, and she just wanted to sleep the entire day. He wanted to know if the brain injury was critical and how long will his wife take for complete recovery.

Our neurosurgeon said that the patient’s brain and scalp injuries were critical and that she has to take all the medicines properly to prevent seizures or fits and other complications. He also informed him that brain injuries take almost 6 months to heal.

The patient’s husband got back to the doctor with an update after a week, saying that his wife was feeling much better after taking the suggested medicines. She sometimes felt heaviness or numbness on the injured site, but the pain was much less. The husband was grateful for our doctor’s timely help and thanked him for suggesting painkillers that gave immediate relief.
