Piles or hemorrhoids are a collection of inflamed tissues, blood vessels, muscle, and elastic fibers in the anal canal. The two types of piles are:
· Internal – Most common type, and located 2 to 4 cm above the anal opening.
· External – Piles on the outer edge of the anus.
Some of the symptoms are hard and painful lump near the anus, blood in stools, itchy and sore perianal area, and pain during bowel movement. Anemia can also result from excessive anal bleeding. Piles are caused due to chronic constipation, diarrhea, lifting heavy weights, obesity, and pregnancy. Losing weight, consuming fiber-rich diet, and taking laxatives can help cure piles.
