Ayurvedic inhaler for instant relief in asthma attack (Ayurveda Specialist)

Dr. Pratibha Jain., BAMS

Medical Case Details:

Many of my patients are using allopathic inhalers for asthma, and their conditions have become worse. They cannot breath properly without the inhaler and oral medicines are not sufficient.

Charak and other granthas indicate Panchkarma. Is there any other option like Ayurvedic inhaler or medicine for instant relief in asthma attack?

    Hello Doctor,
In acute asthmatic attack we can't do much more through Ayurvedic medicines immediately. This is an imergency condition. It needs life saving management at that time. But for chronic patient Ayurveda has several medicines. You can prescribe :
    1. Bharangi mula Churna +Punarnava Churna 10 GM each and make Kwatha in 200ml water. when it left 50 ml filter it and mixed 500mg Shringa Bhasma and drink it before food in two divide does.
    2. Coconut jute Bhasma with honey thrice a day is also useful.

Along with medications you should advice the patient to avoid Kapha and Vata vardhaka Aaharas and viharas.
    Good luck.
