An Interesting Case of RCT (Dentistry)

Dr. Purva Jingar., BDS

Medical Case Details:

Hello all

Few weeks before I had an interesting case of RCT on my chair. A man of around 40 years came to me with a complaint of severe pain in lower anterior teeth 31,41,42. This case was transferred to me from my seniors. The patient gave me history about his work which caused him pain. He was trying to make world record of pulling trucks with his teeth. And after he got this achievement he felt pain in 31,41,42. It was not bearable and was increasing day by day.
On the first day of his treatment he was not even able to take LA infiltration. And I had to open tooth access anyhow. So with one small pressure I opened his pulp chamber in 31,41. After this on the same day I did BMP also. The root length was very short as it was 12mm in 31 and 14mm In 41. I worked very hard to remove this pain.
It took almost an hour with that patient to remove pain and give him temporary restoration.
I recalled him in 3 days and then he was thankful for the relief and treatment. He came back for obturation and I felt so good and appreciated when he presented me a box of sweets for the treatment of his teeth.
I advised him not to pull trucks again and he promised not to do such things for good.
