Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have got pain in my lower abdomen and in my lower back. I started to bleed while I urinated. With time the pain in my lower abdomen though decreased, and the pain while I urinated increased to a severe level. The pain starts from the urethra and extends to the bladder area. The blood was initially red in color and later became brownish. As per my observation, the blood is flowing through the urethra. Also, I have got constant itchiness around the whole pubic area. This was all around when I was expecting my periods.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You have lower abdomen and back pain along with blood in urine along with itching around the pubic area. This happened near your due date for periods. If your observation is really correct, it seems severe urinary infection or some injury anywhere in the urinary tract. First, you should have a urinalysis along with a culture and sensitivity test of urine and also a complete blood count with ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) that will clear your infection range in blood as well as high vaginal, low vaginal, and urethral swabs for investigations for ruling out itching and irritation locally. It is better to have one ultrasound lower abdomen and pelvis also, including kidneys and ureters as well. I suggest you consult a specialist and take the below-mentioned medications with their consent. Augmentin 625 every 8 hours for seven days.

Drink plenty of water.

Cranberry juice also helps to reduce symptoms of UTI (urinary tract infection).

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
