Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My bother is having periodical stomach pain since last month. I am attaching his ultrasound report. Please have a look. He used to have an indigestion problem as well. What should be the next step?

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Ghulam Fareed

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed his ultrasound report in detail. Some lesions within the liver need to be evaluated further. Periodic stomach pain is abdominal pain, which may be secondary to this problem within the liver. He must be evaluated further with help of a CT (computerized tomography) scan abdomen with contrast (liver triphasic study) along with other blood tests like liver function tests, complete blood profile etc. Kidney functions are necessary before CT scan with contrast.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

CT scan has been done today, the report will come the day after. Do the lesions suggest a tumor? What percentage of it that can be malignant?

Thank you.

Answered by Dr. Ghulam Fareed

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

The lesions can be benign or malignant. An ultrasound is always the first modality of choice for liver evaluation. We will have to wait for a CT scan report to see what they found. After the CT scan a decision on biopsy can be taken

Thank you.
