Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My wife took abortion pills before three weeks, but still, her periods did not stop. She is getting some fiber along with the blood and we think that this is not normal. Can you please suggest?

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Her symptoms are suggestive of incomplete abortion. First, you should go for pelvic ultrasonography to see the cause. Then you should consult a gynecologist and get your examination done. If any retained products of conception are there then it can be evacuated by surgical method of abortion (D&C). Please do not worry. Please consult a good gynecologist. It is a safe method of abortion.

I hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Here is the reports from the tests we had, I discussed my problem with the doctor nearby. She suggests that the only option we have is D&C. My financial condition is not that good to afford. Also, I do not know what is in the reports? Would you suggest anything that will help me out here? How much retained product of conception in uterus are there as per the report and how big it is? Is it really very serious? Is there any medicine to help me out here except doing D&C?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have go through your report. (attachment removed to protect patient identity).

In your case it is true that D&C (dilation and curettage) is the only option. The retained product of conception are big in size. It can not be expeled by medicine. It needs surgical evacuation. I can understand your concern but it is the only option. In my opinion you can go to some MTP (medical termination of pregnancy) centre at your near by place. May be they can help you for your problem.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
