Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

For a few days, I have had a bad toothache. I noticed swelling and begun taking antibiotics. I woke up today and the pain is gone but it is even more swollen. I have been using cold and heat compresses, as well as salt water rinse. I am worried I may have developed an abscess but I do not have the money to seek out a dentist.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Understanding your situation, I am prescribing you a proper antibiotic regime that will help in diminishing abscess and infection. Take Augmentin 625 mg twice a day, tablet Metronidazole 400 mg twice a day, tablet Brufen 400 mg twice a day. Take all these medicines for three days. It will work hopefully and will dry up the infection, but again you know it is a temporary solution. The permanent solution is the extraction of the culprit tooth. You may look for low-cost dental visits and ask in your locality when will it happen. Keep doing saline water mouthrinses at least 3 to 5 times a day. Give me follow up after three days. Stay happy and blessed. Take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
