Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

A month ago, I got acidity due to continuously skipping meals and eating late. Since then, I have been using antacid syrup. But still, there was no improvement. My food tube is burning while eating and after meals. Please suggest a good medicine for a complete cure.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

You are having acidity and acid reflux problems as per mentioned history. I suggest the following.

1. Take Rabeprazole 20 mg once daily for one or two weeks. Consult your specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.

2. During sleeping, put a pillow below your head.

3. Avoid excess spicy foods.

4. Avoid stress and smoking.

5. Go to sleep two hours after taking a meal at night.

6. Reduce your weight if you are obese.

7. Avoid high-fat foods, chocolates, and coffee, as they can relax the lower esophageal sphincter (LES).

If there is no improvement, then an X-ray and USG (ultrasound) scan can be planned for further workup.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
