Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a huge acne on my cheek, and the number is less but is of big size. It reoccurs in the same area and nearby areas on my cheek. The size of the acne is huge but small in number. I did not take more sugar or oil, but I have had irregular periods for two years. I have combination skin. I am not taking any medicines, but I am using coconut oil on my face and cocoa butter as a moisturizer.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. I have seen the attached file (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). Acne vulgaris is a common skin problem in adolescents. In adulthood, it involves pilosebaceous follicles or oil glands. Therefore, it is seen to include areas where oil glands are dense, like the face, chest, back, and upper arms are common sites of involvement. Your case looks like grade 1 or grade 2 acne, which is associated with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). Get USG (ultrasonography) pelvis to rule out PCOS. You can start using Faceclin gel (Clindamycin and Nicotinamide 4 %) during day time over pimples and Microbenz gel (Benzoyl peroxide) 3.5 % at night over the whole face for around two to three months. For cleaning your face, you can use Face care face wash twice daily. You must have certain dietary restrictions like avoiding spicy oily, junk food, milk products, and non-vegetarian foods. Also, drink a lot of water that will hydrate your skin.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
