Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 23-year-old female. My periods are regular, and I get acne during that time. My skin got clear recently, but due to my period cycle, I had a terrible breakout this time. My acne is near the cheek and jawline area, and it has been there for a week now. The bumpiness is not going down. Please suggest medications to get rid of period acne soon and effectively.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I thoroughly read your query and understand your concern.

Acne can be treated easily with face wash, tablets, and creams. Some people have more oiliness on the face, which results in breakouts. After completing treatment for controlling the active breakouts, tablets can be stopped, and creams need to be continued to prevent a recurrence. Diet and lifestyle modifications are also important. Please do not do any self-treatment, such as over-the-counter steroid creams. Do not burst the pimples with your fingers, as it can result in ugly scars. The marks left behind after the pimples heal can also be treated.

Please get back for further queries.

Hope this has answered your query.

Treatment plan

I suggest you use Cleargel (Clindamycin) 1 % for local application daily night.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
