Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had acne in the past, starting in high school and lasting through my college years. Now I have acne scars and moderate acne now and then. But it is only on the right side of my face. The left side of my face is clear, except for acne scars, but the right side continues to break out. I wash my face daily with natural face wash since acne products make me break out even more. I tried cleaning my pillow case weekly but with no results. Could you tell me what I am doing wrong or not doing that may have caused this?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern. From your descriptions, it seems you have acne and its scars. A preponderance towards the right side with the left side of face clear can happen with acne. Acne vulgaris is a common skin problem in adolescents. In adulthood, it involves pilosebaceous follicles or oil glands and is seen to include areas where oil glands are dense, like the face, chest, back, and upper arms are common sites of involvement. In your case, it looks like grade 1 to grade 2 acne. I suggest you start using Faceclin gel (Clindamycin topical 1 % w/w, Nicotinamide 4 % w/w) during day time over pimples and Microbenz 3.5% (Benzoyl Peroxide) gel at night hours over the whole face for two to three months. For cleaning your face, you can use Face care face wash [Niacinamide 0.20 w/w, Glycyrrhiza glabra (Licorice extract PG) 0.20 w/w, Mono laurin 0.10 w/w, Curcuma longa (Turmeric scfe oil) 0.05 w/w, and Azadirachta indica ( Neem oil) 0.025 w/w] twice daily. It would be best to have certain dietary restrictions like avoiding oily, spicy food, junk food, milk products, and non-vegetarian food. Drink a lot of water to hydrate your skin.

Thank you.
