Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Whenever I eat unhealthy food or eat chocolate, I always develop break out. A pimple forms overnight, and it makes me upset. Can chocolate cause breakouts, or is it just my skin? I used to have bad acne, but I started using Differin, which made a huge difference.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Acne is common in the age group between 15 to 30 years. It is a natural or normal physiological process due to changes in hormone levels during puberty or the growing body. Every individual is different. Some experience more acne and some people experience no acne. It depends upon various factors and genetics and varies with the person. With growing age, acne stops developing.

Preventive measures

Do not wash your face frequently and with soap. Use a suitable face wash that suits your skin. Do not rub your face with the towel. Just do it like sponging. Do not scratch and break pimples. It will cause dark spots and scars that are difficult to treat. Drink more water and eat fruits. Avoid outside food.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
