Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 29-year-old male. I have been getting multiple skin tags on my shoulder areas. Recently, I found a small skin tag looking like a thing on my scrotum. It is raised and not painful and more verticle than horizontal. It does not feel firm; it is more like fluid and does not hurt when pressure is applied. There is only one, and it appears to be the same color as the skin. Is it safe to say it is a skin tag? Also, why have I been getting more and more skin tags? Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please send a few more photographs (attachment removed to protect patient identity) taken from different angles and distances of all affected lesions. What are your weight and height? Do you have any systemic disease? Are you obese? I am looking forward to your response to help you. Regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply. I am 5.6 feet tall and weighs about 169 lbs, so I am slightly in the obese category. I do not have any systematic disease that I know of. I need to get bloodwork done for the possible fatty liver but have not been diagnosed yet. I accidentally uploaded two images twice, but I added three more photos. Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, it is acrochordon that is a skin tag; you need to get it removed by laser or electrocautery; otherwise, it can increase in size. Obesity and high lipid are the most consistently associated factor as well as the cause behind it. An increase in physical activity, as well as high-intensity interval training, are going to help in reducing them. It can also be a sign of an impending hormonal problem like diabetes mellitus and thyroid disorder. Once erupted, there is no medicine to treat it, so you need to get it removed. I hope it helps. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Regards.
