Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have sagittal, transverse, and coronary MR sections in standard display techniques. In a series of sagittal, transverse, and coronary MR sections through the area of the cervical spinal canal, one can see the orderly height, shape, and structure of the displayed vertebral bodies. Strengthening of physiological lordosis.

At the level of the C5-C6 segment, a central plate and a more left-positioned disc protrusion can be seen, which reduces the width of the anterior subarachnoid space and is in close contact with the C6 radix - in the control period, it is in milder progression. The shown cervical medulla has a physiological signal intensity. The relationships in the craniocervical transition are physiological.

I am interested in what sort of therapy should I do, and how serious this problem is.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Well what you have sent is an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) report which alone has no value. Please tell me your symptoms which have to be correlated with the MRI. Also if you can send me films of the MRI, then it will be good.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I have had pain for more than one and half years after the whiplash injury on the tender, but also 6 years ago I had a strong car accident. My pain got worse in the last three or four months. It is constant and every day, if I do some exercise, the pain gets stronger, and I get inflammation in my upper back while I am on my job. I did physical therapy, DNS exercises, and decompression therapy for one month but the pain is not getting better. I do not know what to do anymore. I read about this ozone therapy, do you think it is good for my situation?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

I have seen your MRI (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). There is a mild disc bulge at C5-6 and for the rest, there are degenerative changes. The spinal cord has signal intensity changes but it seems to be because of an old injury. I feel you need good physiotherapy which includes ultrasonic and TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) therapy along with neck exercises and good work ergonomics.

Also, tell me what medications are you taking. And what about your personal and work life, do you have any kind of ongoing stress on which you have been focusing a lot recently?

Hope this helps.

Thanks and take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

From 14 till I was 21, I did kickboxing and then I had a strong car accident. I was in a bad state for two months but nothing broke. I only started to have a little bit of low back pain. Later, I started to work in the merchant navy as an engineer, so I stopped doing kickboxing professionally and only training for myself. I started to work on a yacht as an engineer or sailor, so I have tender driving rope work two years ago. Now I am 27, my neck pain started after a whiplash injury on tender, and also I cannot train anymore. It starts to really hurt and I cannot move my neck sometimes. I try not to take any medication until I really cannot move. I take Normabel and Arcoxia but they do not really help. Only when I get injections in the hospital does the pain go away for two to three days.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

I suggest you try to stop the tablet Normabel (Benzodiazepine). It is habit-forming and not good in the long term. If it has been prescribed by your doctor, then it is fine. Also, add good physiotherapy as I advised above. Do exercises but nothing heavy. Start with walking for 45 minutes at a stretch daily then you can add the capsule Pregabalin 75 mg at night. However, please consult a physician, discuss with them, and start taking the medications with their consent.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
