Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have severe adult acne, and I am 33 years old. My height is 5 feet 6 inches, and I weigh 253 pounds. I have had this issue for more than 11 years now, and I have tried everything to get rid of it, and nothing helped. I recently found that I had some on my legs and buttocks as well. The acne is very itchy also. I do not know what to do. Please help. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your concern in detail and will surely help you out. The first thing in the treatment of acne is patience. Patience is a must because it takes time to heal. You are suffering from acne, which has infected with bacteria leading to pus formation. So I suggest we need to cure the infection and then go for acne treatment. To treat infection, I recommend the following medications. Take Tablet Augmentin (Amoxicillin and Clavulanate potassium) 625 mg thrice daily for seven days. Use Fucibet (Betamethasone and Fusidic acid) cream. Apply to the affected area twice daily. After one week, when the infection subsides, I suggest the following treatment for acne. Use Benzoyl Peroxide gel thrice daily. Use Acne UV (sunscreen) gel apply thrice daily. Apart from this, avoid oily food as oily food worsens pimple formation. I hope this helps. Kindly revert in case of further queries. Thank you.

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply. How do I get those medications? Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It depends on the country you live in. These medications are available for purchase over-the-counter in most countries. However, if your country is strict regarding buying medicines without a prescription, you will need a prescription. You need to book a consult to get the prescription. If you want, I will send the generic names of these medicines. I hope this helps. Kindly revert in case of further queries. Thank you.

Hello doctor,

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Take Tablet Augmentin 625 (Amoxicillin clavulanate 625 mg) thrice daily for seven days. Use Fucibet cream (Fusidic acid 2 % and Betamethasone 0.1 %). Apply to the affected area twice daily. After one week, when the infection subsides, I suggest starting the following treatment for acne. Use Benzoyl peroxide gel thrice daily (Benzoyl peroxide 2 % is the generic name). Use Acne UV gel. Apply thrice daily (this is SPF 30 for protection from UV rays. Basically, this is a sunscreen. You can buy any SPF 30 cream). Thanks and regards.
