Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had moderate acne, for which I started using Epiduo gel. It worked great and cleared up my skin. However, I still get a pimple or two occasionally, but overall there has been a big improvement. I have some minor scarring. My problem comes from the redness of my skin. My skin in general, is just redder. It does not burn, and it is not irritated. I think that redness is a big side effect of Epiduo gel, but I have not used it consistently for the past few months. My face is the reddest when I get out of the shower. Throughout the day, it gets less red but never clears up. Please suggest a treatment.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

Acne is common at your age, and you might experience frequent exacerbation due to stress or hormones. I suggest you use anti-acne gel (Adapalene and Benzoyl peroxide) whenever you have pimples or a Clindamycin (antibiotic) gel on pimples. For redness, I suggest you use the anti-acne gel only once at night and apply any good sunscreen in the morning. For clogged pores, I suggest you use a mild cleanser.

Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
