Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been running a lot lately, and there this one time that I felt some pain in the head of my penis. It was a small burn, and it did not hurt, so I just let it be. Then I noticed a sort of small scar. Now, it has gotten big, like a callous or a big scar plate. It does not hurt or anything. But I also do not feel anything when I try to touch it. I have been trying to put anti-fungal soap on it, but I do not think it is doing anything. I am single, and I am not sexually active, have not been with anyone for a year. I have just been running and biking.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for attaching the pictures (attachment removed to protect patient identity), and I understood your concern. Such a thing can be due to fungal infection or allergic dermatitis due to sweating and improper hygiene. As you mentioned, you were not involved in sexual activity so far, so there are no sexually active diseases. It is more like candida fungal infection. So take five days' treatment and let me know after five days. Tablet Cefixime 200 mg twice a day after meal for five days and tablet Cetirizine 10 mg once a day after meal for five days. Cream Beclomethasone and Clotrimazole three times a day on the scar after cleaning it. Use fresh towels and underwear. Do you have any history of herpes? Since when do you have this scar? Is there any itching, pain, or pus? Do you have such scars on lips or other parts of the body? Please let me know.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for that fast reply.

Here are the answers to my questions. I do not have any history of herpes and had this scar about three months ago. There is no itching or pus. I do not have any scars on the lips and other parts of the body as well. Can I use your prescription at a pharmacy, or will there be a document for this in the mail?

Thank you so much.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

They will give you medicine if you show them or tell the name since their medications are not strong. So you will get them over the counter. After five days, let me know if there is an improvement or change accordingly or add other medicine.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Thank you, doctor, for the reply,

Sure will do it.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed our old chat history and examined previous pictures, and I can see significant improvement. It appears that the condition is now healing. Therefore, I recommend continuing to use the cream as you are doing regularly. However, please refrain from taking Cefixime and Cetirizine. Instead, I advise taking a tablet of Prednisolone 5 mg once a day after a meal for five days. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her, and take the medicines with their consent. Please inform me of your progress after completing the five-day course. Additionally, ensure that you continue using the cream regularly without missing any applications.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Thank you for the reply doctor,

I am pleased to hear that it is healing. Does it typically take this long for such improvement? Can I present this message as a prescription at the drugstore? If acceptable, could I request a formal prescription from you?

Answered by Dr. Sugreev Singh

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, it does take time to heal, so there is no need to worry. You can obtain it over the counter. You can simply show this message.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Thank you for the reply doctor,

The skin on the tip of my penis has peeled twice over the holidays. I have taken the medication you prescribed, and I have been applying Clotrimazole as instructed. Is there anything else we can do about it? I would say there has been improvement, but I am unsure if it is expected to take this long to fully resolve.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I suggest you undergo testing for herpes and TRI-DOT, as well as a CBC (complete blood count), to rule out other potential causes. Additionally, please use Beclomethasone 0.1 % along with Clotrimazole. Once you have completed the testing, please send me the reports, and I will review them to provide further guidance.

Thank you.
