Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a rash on my hand that I have since twenty years; it started on the day when my gloves broke, and I touched a dead mouse. The rash comes and goes for months. Then, it becomes itchy and looks like patches of dry skin. Eating cheese and gluten makes it worse. I also noticed that it was almost gone when I went on an all-vegetable diet for a year. Please help. Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Based on the information you provided, it is suggestive of hand dermatitis. It can be due to two factors one is dryness, and the second is contact with an allergen. At present, I would suggest you to use Clobetasol ointment twice daily till its remission, followed by daily uses of moisturizers and antihistamines for itching if needed. Your itching or rubbing is only going to aggravate this condition, so make all effort not to touch it at all. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
