Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am facing a hair fall problem through which the hairs are leaving their place from the roots. I am concerned about this. Please provide me with some treatment to free me from this problem.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Can you please attach your clinical pictures so that I can look at the pattern of hair loss.

There are many causes for hair loss like

a. Androgenetic alopecia- genitic.

b.Telogen effluvium-stress induced.

c. Hormonal- thyroid problems.

d. Polycystic ovarian disease.

  1. Do you have a family history of hair loss?
  2. Are you going through any major stress?
  3. Any illness in the past?
  4. Any history of a crash diet?
  5. Any thyroid abnormalities?
  6. Have you done any blood tests?

However, I would like to give you some hair care tips here.

1. Always use luke's warm water for washing your hair. Never use hot water.

2. Do not comb when hair is wet.

3. Do not use a hair dryer. Allow it to dry naturally after the bath.

4. Avoid hot iron straighteners. It breaks the protein bond in hair, making hair brittle.

5. Hair is made up of a protein called keratin. You need more protein daily, like eggs, fish, curd, milk, lentils, and chicken.

6. Regular exercise for 40 minutes daily, six days a week, to keep the hormonal balance intact.

7. Use a comb with a wide space between each tooth, and the tip should be blunt. Comb gently.

8. Avoid smoking. Nicotine decreases blood supply to the hair roots, affecting hair growth.

9. Avoid tight ponies. It would cause traction on hair, eventually leading to hair fall from the frontal area. Keep the hair loosely tied.

Thank you.
