Hello doctor,
My girlfriend is worried that she might be pregnant as almost two months ago, she had some sperm on her hand, cleaned it off with a cleanser, and then touched herself. After that, she had a period, and even though she says it was not as heavy as the bleeding, the cramps were painful; now she is dealing with huge stomach pain and body fatigue, nausea, and worries that she is pregnant.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concerns. As per your description, these symptoms could be due to hormonal imbalance, but it could be due to pregnancy, though the chances are very low. But as she missed her period, it could be an anovulatory cycle (due to hormonal changes) or due to pregnancy (if precum contains sperms). Take a home urine pregnancy test after seven days of your missed period date or a blood beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) test to rule out pregnancy. If pregnancy is not there, it could be due to hormonal imbalance, and you can wait and watch for your menses or take progesterone for withdrawal bleeding. Also, get your thyroid profile and hemoglobin test to rule out hormonal changes. I hope this was helpful.
Thank you.
