Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had my periods at the end of the last month, and I had sex in the first week of this month. Is there a chance that I am pregnant? Kindly help.

Answered by Dr. Sunita Kothari

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There are chances that you might be pregnant if you were sexually active. So, take a pregnancy test three days after the intercourse. If the results are negative, I would suggest tablet Meprate (Medroxyprogesterone acetate) 10 mg thrice daily for three days and then stop and wait for seven days. Otherwise, active urinary tract infections can occur, so drink more water.

Thank you.
