Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had unprotected sex last month but I took I-pills within 72 hours and also I had periods in last 15 days back but now I have some thick discharge coming out of my vagina. Please tell me are there chances of pregnancy? If not, then why this thick thing getting discharged? Please help me.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is unlikely for you to be pregnant now. Because I-pills are highly effective in avoiding pregnancy. Also, you had bleeding, ruling out the possibility of pregnancy. Still, there is no harm in getting urine pregnancy test done, just to confirm. Did you not have similar discharge anytime in the past? Some individuals may get such discharge cyclically due to hormonal changes. Also, there is a possibility of candidiasis in you. Do you also get itching near or inside vagina, is this foul smelling discharge? If yes it further suggests candidiasis. You should have Clotrimazole pessary to be kept in vagina bedtime for seven days.
