Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I recently went through a bad breakup which resulted in me being in shock. I also had early periods (fifteen days early). I am confused as it can be spotting, or I might have conceived two weeks ago. I am worried I might be pregnant. Can you please help me with my condition?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com

I have read your concern in detail, and I understand your condition. It is pretty simple: pregnancy is impossible if you have had your periods and did not indulge in sex after that. So yes, there might be a possibility that you had mild bleeding or spotting (not proper bleeding-like periods) due to pregnancy. You can confirm this with UPT (urine pregnancy test), ultrasound of the abdomen, and serum beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) levels. All in all, I do not think this is due to pregnancy, but I will advise you to get these tests done for your mental relief.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
