Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My periods ended on 10th, and I had sex on 12th. Within an hour after intercourse, I took Unwanted 72. On 14th, I bled only for one day. Is there a chance of pregnancy or not?

Answered by Dr. Neha Rathod

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Since you have taken the emergency pill within 72 hours of intercourse there is no chance of pregnancy. The bleeding could be because of hormonal changes due to the pill you have taken and its withdrawal bleeding.

So, relax and do not worry.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you so much.

I want to know is the second day after my periods end a safe period? Also, does Unwanted 72 work if taken within an hour? Is there a need for any test?

Answered by Dr. Neha Rathod

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

From day 1 to 10 of the period is a safe period, there is no chance of pregnancy as there is no ovulation happening during this period. The pill will definitely work.

Take care.
