Ambroxol Hydrochloride

Ambroxol hydrochloride is a mucolytic drug. It works by converting the mucus into less viscid and thinner substances by the breakdown of mucopolysaccharide fibers. Its action begins after 30 minutes of oral intake. It is used in the treatment of bronchitis, inflammatory pulmonary conditions, bronchiectasis, etc. It might cause mild gastrointestinal side effects. In the first trimester of pregnancy, it is better not to use this drug.
