Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been having pain and discomfort for one week in my anal area. Nearly seven years back, I had a hemorrhoidectomy. I can feel one hemorrhoid protruding out a little, and that is giving me pain. I applied piles cream locally, and it did not give much relief. Can you please advise?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

May I know which cream you used?

The first thing is that your stool should be soft. For that, you should eat a high-fiber diet like fruits, green leafy vegetables like spinach, and raw cucumber. Avoid smoking, refined food, and fatty and oily food. You should have plenty of fluids and do regular exercise. Also, syrup like Lactulose, 15 to 30 ml at bedtime, can help in maintaining your stool soft.

Second, you can use 2 % Lidocaine gel before each stool so as relieve pain. Also, a sitz bath will be helpful. During a sitz bath, the anus is immersed in warm water for approximately 10 to 15 minutes two to three times daily.

I hope this helps you. Do get back if you have any doubts.
