Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 21-year-old female, and I have a swollen anus, which is itchy, painful while passing stool, and is bleeding a little. I have noticed a few things wrong when trying to pass stool. It has become unbearable, and I am a little worried it could be anal cancer.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Well, the symptoms and the anal swelling seem to be an acute anal fissure. The anal fissure is a breach in the lining of the anal canal. There are specific causes for its development; the common of all is constipation or forceful passage of stools (straining).

I want to know how long you have this pain and bleeding, and also, have you been constipated these days?

The colon cancers usually present with painless bleeding. Most of the time, they cause low hemoglobin due to long-lasting ongoing unnoticed occult blood in stools and not necessarily fresh bleeding as in your case. Colon cancers do not develop in days. It takes months to a year before appearing as bleeding in stools.

Thirdly it is very uncommon in young ages like yours unless there is a positive family history of colon cancer running in families.

Did anyone have colon cancer in your family diagnosed below the age of 50?

Kindly get back with answers to the above questions for further management and treatment.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
