Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

For the past one month, I get a shooting pain in my anus, or maybe rectum. It only happens when I am sitting down or laying down. The pain usually lasts a couple of seconds and every other day it happens. I have also have been pooping small balls, not the normal poop. Is it the reason I get those pains? I used to not have a hard time pooping and I never got these pains. It all happened after I had a hard time pooping. What could this be? How can I cure it with home remedies? I do not have money to go to a doctor. Is it something serious? I am getting scared.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It appears you have a fissure and there is a damage to your tract due to hard stools. Your stool should be soft. For that, you should eat a high-fiber diet like fruits (apple, banana, oranges), green leafy vegetables (spinach), and raw cucumber. Avoid smoking, refined food, fatty and oily food. You should have plenty of fluids and regular exercises. Also, I suggest a syrup like Lactulose 15 to 30 ml at bedtime to maintain your stools soft. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and start taking the medicines with their consent. Second, you can use 2 % Lidocaine gel before each stool so as to relieve the pain. Also, sitz bath will be helpful. During a sitz bath, the anus is immersed in warm water for approximately 10 to 15 minutes two to three times daily. Sitz bath kits are available in most drugstores which contains Potassium permanganate. If not responding to above treatment, then you can sitz bath. Hope this helps you. Get back if you have any doubts.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
