Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My physician told me that my autoimmune blood test revealed a positive RNP result. I am looking for reassurance that this result is not indicative of MTCD. I am very scared.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

These antibodies show a positive result even when the patients do not have any symptoms. Apart from antibodies, we need to check ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), CRP (C-reactive protein), complete blood count, and liver function test. Please update the history and reports to provide a better diagnosis.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My doctor told me that she will send the results to me soon. She did not give any referral to the rheumatologist. Regarding the symptoms, I have knee pain while driving. I drive a vehicle where my body is too small for the seat in relation to the pedals. I place a pillow on my lower back. It helps me a lot but not much. The knee pain has gone away now. I also have had neck pain near the occiput for several months on the right side. I have it when I work on the computer. Recently, I switched to a comfortable chair, and the neck pain got subsided.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

None of your symptoms matches with connective tissue disease. You have postural and lifestyle modification problems. You need to identify and kindly rectify it. At this stage, you do not need to worry about anti-RNP antibodies. Please attach the results of other blood tests to help you. As of now, it shows a false-positive result in your case.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
