Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My uncle is 58 and has been struggling with bad asthma forever. He is now on inhalers, steroids, and nebulizers but still ends up in the emergency room every few months. Last year, he was also diagnosed with mild cardiomyopathy, so now the whole thing is more complicated. We heard about Tezspire from a family friend whose daughter is on it for severe asthma and doing way better.
We asked his pulmonologist, but they did not give much info. My uncle’s current medicines are affecting his sleep and BP too, so we are desperate for something better. Is Tezspire safe for someone with heart issues? Also, how do we even get started with it? Is it just an injection, or does he need tests first?
Kindly help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the detailed history you have given. Yes, it will be effective. Yes, pre-treatment reports are needed, especially eosinophil count. And eosinophil counts are also needed once he starts the injection.
I hope this information will help you.
Thanks.
