Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I want to ask what I should do because my 1-year-old baby son has had a cold for the last six days and yesterday he had a fever. His temperature has not decreased since yesterday, and the lowest reading is 37 degrees Celsius. He no longer has a cold, but he still has a temperature. Symdex D, Lagundi syrup, and Cetirizine were prescribed by our doctor. How should I proceed? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

If the temperature is 37 degrees Celsius or more, you can give syrup Crocin DS 240 mg/mL (Paracetamol) if occasions required (SOS) four to six hourly. If the temperature is 38 degrees Celsius or more, you can give syrup Ibugesic Plus (Ibuprofen and Paracetamol), dose as per the weight of the child, if occasions required (SOS) four to six hourly. If the temperature stays above 37 degrees Celsius for more than three days or if the temperature crosses 38 degrees Celsius, it is suggested to get evaluated physically by a pediatrician with possible blood investigations based as per physical examination.

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
