Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My baby is 35-days-old and has gained weight compared to his weight at birth. My baby cries at night, and he needs milk. I feed him from 8 pm to 10 am. But still, his stomach is empty, so I have started Nan pron1 infant formula milk twice daily. Is this safe, or does it has any side effects? Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Every baby stays awake from 12 am-midnight and sleeps at 4 am. This time is a day for babies. They are alert, want to play, drink milk, and frequently pass stool and urine. If not attended, they cry a lot. To change this routine, wake the baby in the daytime, do not let him sleep by simply holding his palm between his thumb and index finger and pressing the palm whenever the baby sleeps. Within a week, he will change his sleeping cycle—no need to give formula feeding, as bottle feeding is unhealthy for babies. Believe in yourself. You have enough milk. Give whole mother milk for up to six months.

Thank you.
