Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My daughter suffering from a fever, cold, and cough for the last two days. I am giving her Paracetamol pediatric oral suspension 120 mg/5 ml, 8 ml every 7 to 8 hours, but the fever is not coming down completely since yesterday. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

1. If the temperature is 100 F or more, you can give the syrup Paracetamol (120 mg/5 ml) 8 ml SOS 4 to 6 hourly.

2. If the temperature is 102 F or more, you can give the syrup Ibugesic plus 5 ml SOS 6 to 8 hourly.

3. If the temperature stays above 100 F for more than three days or if the temperature crosses 103 F, it is advisable to get evaluated physically by a pediatrician with possible blood investigations based on physical examination.

4. Syrup Levolin plus 5 ml twice a day for 5 to 7 days can be given for cough.

5. Syrup Cetzine 5 ml twice a day for 3 to 5 days can be given for the cold.

However, please consult a physician, discuss with them, and start taking the medications with their consent.

If no improvement or worsening, please take the child to the nearest hospital.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and take care.
