Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My 2-month-old son is having a cold and I am giving him T-minic medicine. I checked his temperature and it is 97.9 degrees Fahrenheit in his underarm. Should I give him Crocin or not? If yes, then what should be the dosage?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

No need of giving Crocin since temperature is below 100 F. If you need to give Crocin, please give Crocin syrup (100 mg/ml) 0.5 ml SOS if the temperature is above 100 F. Continue T-minic (Chlorpheniramine and Phenylephrine). If cold persists, please get the child evaluated physically since it is a very small child.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I hope there is no risk of dengue as it is dengue season. Does dengue bring blocked nose or cold?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Do not worry. Dengue does not cause blocked nose or cold. In dengue, there will be high-grade fever with a red rash all over the body and repeated vomiting. The child will appear sick and will refuse feed with low urine output.

As per your described symptoms, it does not look anything like dengue. So do not worry so much.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
