Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My 7-week-old baby has not pooped for three days. I feed him every two hours and make him burp.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is normal for children below six months to pass stools 10 to 20 times a day or once in three to five days. Both are fine and are not labeled as constipation or diarrhea. Therefore, no treatment is required in such cases. Treatment is needed only when there is fever, lethargy, or a refusal to feed.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
