Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have had pain in my lower back in the lumbar region for the past six months. I have severe pain during sleep. It feels comfortable to use a pillow beneath my feet. I do physiotherapy exercises at home, but I did not do them regularly, and in the last few weeks, I performed exercises in the gym. But I have stopped doing the exercises now. Kindly give your suggestions.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I suggest you follow the instructions to relieve your lower back pain, avoid lifting heavy weights, avoid arching your back; instead bend your knees to pick up something from the floor, avoid sitting for long hours, avoid two-wheeler rides, try to improve your posture while sitting, try to get up from your chair every 20 minutes, take a quick walk around, and then continue working, always sit on a chair with back support, do not get up suddenly from a sleeping position, instead, turn to the side and then get up, take bed rest if you are having severe pain, and do hot fomentations locally over the affected area twice daily. I also suggest you perform physiotherapy and back core strengthening exercises and take the medicines: (consult with a nearby doctor and discuss with him or her before taking these medicines) tablet Pregabalin (fibromyalgia agents) 75 mg once a day for ten days before food, tablet Ibuprofen (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) 400 mg twice a day for ten days after food, and tablet Rabeprazole (proton pump inhibitors) 20 mg twice a day for ten days before food.

I hope this helps you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
