Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

If I lie on my back for more than two minutes, I have quite severe lumbar pain when I try to get out of bed, mainly when I try to straighten up. It goes away once I manage to straighten up. I also have lumbar acne that comes and goes every few months but this is not so severe.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your concern. The pain what you describe could be due to flexibility issue. Less flexibility in hamstrings and less hip flexor muscles can cause this issue. This changes the biomechanics of low back altering the posture resulting in pain in the lower back. I would like to suggest you stretch hip flexor and hamstrings. Try sleeping with a pillow below the knees. Do lots of lower abdomen pelvic floor and core stabilization exercises.

Dead bugs 30 seconds thrice, hundreds 10 BC thrice, air cycling 30 seconds thrice, bridging with pillow squeezing between legs 15 thrice, step ups 15 each thrice, clamshell 10 seconds hold six each thrice, superman reach 15 each thrice, back extension exercises 15 thrice. Kindly revert back to me after 10 days. Keep icing your back frequently. For 15 minutes once in two hours.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I will try these exercises.
