Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a small pencil size bump on the roof of my mouth. What to do?

Answered by Dr. Sugreev Singh

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. I have gone through the attached picture (attachment removed to protect patient identity). These patches can be caused due to oral infection affected by bacteria. So we need to treat them accordingly with antibiotics. It happens due to indigestion or improper oral hygiene. I suggest you maintain oral hygiene by cleaning the mouth and teeth daily. If you are not sensitive to any antibiotics, then I suggest you take tablet Augmentin 625 mg (Amoxicillin with Clavulanic acid) three times a day after meal, take tablet Multivitamin 500 mg once a day after a meal at night, and take tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg once a day before meal. Take this treatment for five days. Please mention whether you have a history of fever, any other patches on the body or mouth, any itching or pain, and the medicine taken currently. Please answer these questions to guide you further.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I do not have fever and any other patches on the body or mouth. It causes irritation and it is tender.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can take the treatment as prescribed for five days and it will become alright. If you have pain, then you can take tablet Diclofenac 75 mg one tablet after taking the meal. Have a follow up after five days.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
