Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a type 2 diabetic and had a balanitis infection for about a month and finally healed. I get a tiny little white dot that goes away overnight but sometimes appears again at a different location.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. I saw the picture (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). If there was unprotected sex - one needs to think of sexually transmitted infection. Kindly get the following tests done:

  1. TPHA (treponema pallidium hemagglutination).
  2. HPV DNA PCR test- Standardised human papillomavirus (HPV) polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
  3. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) one and two IgG.
  4. Herpes simplex virus (HSV) one and two IgM, and serum.
  5. Chlamydia trachomatis IgG.
  6. HIV one and two antibodies screening test.
  7. HBsAg -Hepatitis B surface antigen.
  8. Urine analysis complete

If not, it can be a simple bacterial infection. Consult your specialist doctor, talk to them, and take medications after their consent.

You can use ointment T-Bact (Mupirocin) for local application and take a tablet of Doxycycline 100 mg twice a day for five days. If there is itching, you need to think of a fungal infection and apply an ointment Candid B (Beclomatsone, and Clotrimazole) for local application. For itching take a tablet of Cetrizine once a night. Make sure you wash your genitalia twice a day morning and night and use normal water and not cold or hot water. Do not use heavy pH soap.

Thank you.

Hello doctor,

Can you prescribe me Doxycycline 100 mg so I can pick it up from my local pharmacy?

Thank you.

Yes, you can take Doxy (Doxycycline) 100 mg twice a day after food for five days.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
