Hi doctor,
My daughter was doing bedwetting intermittently. She did it again and again before three months. She had done once during winter and rainy season. Is this fine? I am confused as my child gets nervous when I plan to see a doctor. Do I need to take her to a doctor? Any other tests to be taken?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
On considering the age of the child and a rare frequency of bedwetting, there is nothing to be concerned. You can follow these measures. Keep your child away from negative influences and keep her away from people shouting or stressing the child. Have a bedwetting alarm that rings when the child wets the bed. When the alarm rings, wake up your child and take her to the bathroom. Make the child wash her wet clothes after doing it. Reduce her water intake before three to five hours of going to sleep. Have a bed-wetting diary. It should be maintained with water intake of the child mentioned with time and when the child has urinated or bed wetted. Try these measures for a month or two. If it works, then your child does not require any test or anything else. She does not need a consultation with a pediatric urologist.
