Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

The query is about my elder sister. She does not seem to be herself. She has been the kind of person who would get angry at the drop of a hat. But, she is friendly and caring, compliments things a lot. I had been away from home for a week, and she had changed so much when I returned. She talks about life and has become kinder to us. She talks about things we never knew she would even mention, like words of wisdom. I do not see a problem, but our family seems to notice it, which is very disturbing. I know people can change their personalities but not at that speed. Everybody feels like it is not my sister. She has been applying for a job for about a month now, but she is not getting any job. I do not know if she is depressed. Whenever we ask her about her sudden change, she says she is fine.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It is more likely that your sister is suffering from a sudden change in behavior, which could result from a psychiatric problem. As I can see, her whole life is disturbed now, and there are problems in her interpersonal relationships. So it should not be ignored. Instead, take her to a psychiatrist. Get the following investigations: EEG (electroencephalogram) and CT (computed tomography) scan head.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
