Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I took pills for five years and stopped it before four months. Still, I did not get my periods. I know that it can take months and for some people, it can take a year or more to get back it. But I am worried. I am healthy with a normal weight. I have a week in every month showing symptoms of periods such as feeling hungry, bloating, and cramps.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It takes a while for getting periods after stopping the pill. Most women will get their periods around one or two months after stopping the pill. But this depends on a number of factors such as BMI (body mass index), stress, exercise, and PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). It can affect your cycle. Your periods may be irregular for a few days after stopping the pill and it takes up to four or five months to get a normal menstrual cycle naturally.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
