Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 32 years old, and I had a few health issues last week. This week, again, I had severe stomach pain and was hospitalized and diagnosed with gallstones. I did not undergo surgery, but I was hospitalized because my blood test reports revealed some issues with the liver. Since then, I did not have pain but experienced mild pain on the right and left side of the rib cage. However, I was discharged from the hospital yesterday and was fine and started going to work. But yesterday, when I arrived home in the afternoon, I felt weak, and sometimes I also had a bitter taste in my mouth. Why do I have this bitter taste in my mouth? Is this weakness normal?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. Regarding gallstones, you should undergo surgery if the gallbladder inflames frequently or is multiple and small in size, with a high risk of main duct obstruction. The symptoms that require immediate medical attention are jaundice and fever. Kindly share the ultrasound and CBC (complete blood count) reports.

I suggest you to take syrup Gaviscon (Sodium Bicarbonate, Calcium Carbonate, and Sodium Alginate) after meals for the bitter taste, as it is most likely to be acid reflux.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them and take the medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
